IMPORTANCE NOTICE

In the wake of global outbreak of COVID-19, on 16 March 2020, National Security Council and Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin made announcement to close all places of worship to public from 18th to 31st March 2020.

In view of this, Malaysia Hindu Sangam request all places of worship including Hindu temples to take the following measures to control the spread of the virus;

1) Temples are closed for public during this time. However, the daily ritual Worship (Nitya puja) which is compulsory shall be continued by the temple priests.

2) All other temple activities such as Kumbabhisegham, Annual Prayer, special Pujas, Ubhayam, weddings and other auspicious functions involving large gatherings are to be postponed to a later date.

These restrictions are imposed in view of public safety and health. We hope all Hindus will corporate with the action taken by the government to control COVID-19.
