Introduction
In conjunction with the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS), the first Vivekananda Quiz Contest was started in 2015.
As a novel effort, MHS for the first time conducted a programme in Malay and English to encourage the students. In its effort to reach out to the young generation, MHS is working to produce literatures in Malay and English. In the past years, the Vivekananda Quiz Contest were conducted nationwide. More than 1312 students participated in this online contest.
The programme is organised by Malaysia Hindu Sangam Youth Bureau. Students who take part in the Vivekananda Quiz Contest will be eligible to become a member of the MHS Teen’s Club. MHS National Youth is guiding the teenagers in personality development.
The programme is supported by Ministry of Education, Malaysia.
The Objective
- To encourage the students to read the life and message of Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902).
- To create cultural awareness
- To cultivate reading habits
- To increase self-motivation
Who May Participate
The contest is open to all Malaysian students from age 13 to 17 irrespective of race or religion.
Entry is FREE.
The Format
- The questions are based on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
- This year, the Online Contest and Final Stage Round is in ENGLISH.
- The contest will be held at two levels as follows:
Online Contest
- Participant must register and immediately answer 50 multiple choices (objective) questions within 25 minutes.
- Participant is required to have a Google or Gmail account to log in.
- A participant is only eligible to enter the online quiz once.
Final Stage Round
30 shortlisted winners will be called for the Final stage round.
- The marks from the Online Contest will not be carried forward.
- Final Stage Round has 4 segments:

Contestants answer in writing 30 objective questions (Yes or No) within 5 minutes.
Each contestant answers 2 oral objective questions. Each contestant will be given 2 quotations of Swami Vivekananda to be rephrased within 2 minutes. Six participants with highest scores will answer 5 subjective questions. |
The Prize
The winners will receive books, trophy, certificates and cash prize as follow:
- 1st Prize – RM2,500
- 2nd Prize – RM1,500
- 3rd Prize – RM1,000
- 3 consolation prizes worth RM100

Log in to Quiz Page using a valid Google or Gmail account.
- Complete the online entry form and proceed to the Quiz Questions. Please ensure you give us correct contact No. and email Id.
- Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
- One participant is only eligible for one entry.
- Answer 50 questions within 25 minutes.
- Once you complete all the questions and submit, the score will be shown immediately. Please note your score and wait for our email.
- Those who are qualified to enter the Final Stage Round will be notified by email/telephone. Therefore, please ensure that you have given us the correct email/telephone number.
Terms & Conditions
The top three winners of the Vivekananda Quiz Contest in 2015, 2016 and 2017 are NOT ELIGIBLE to participate in the 2018 contest.
