New Beneficiaries for Akshaya Patra
Mdm Kaliammal aged 63 is a widow. Her husband passed away 11 years ago. She is an asthmatic patient. She has 4 children. Out of her 4 children. Three of them are married and settled down in various places. She is currently residing with her youngest daughter, Ms Kavitha aged 32, who is mentally retarded (OKU) at a rented house with a monthly rental of RM300. Ms Kavitha is receiving an aid from Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat of RM200 which is sufficient for her own medical and diapers.Mdm Kaliammal kept the family running with the money given by her other 3 children which are not sufficient enough as they have their own family to look after. Mdm Kaliammal approached Malaysia Hindu Sangam, Perak State seeking for monthly groceries. Mrs Pathma Devi Head of Perak State Welfare Section accompanied by Thordarmani Mdm Mariyaee, MHS Tanjong Rambutan Women Head on 25 May 2017 gave a small contribution for temporary relief and channeled further help for them through Akshaya Patra project under Tanjong Rambutan LC Welfare Bureau.
Educational Assistance
Mr Balakrishnan, aged 53 is a sole bread winner in his family. He is working as a Trolly Boy at Ipoh TESCO. His take home salary is approximately RM1000 to RM1200 depending on extra overtime. His wife, Theivaga aged 51 is a housewife. Currently, she is undergoing a treatment for her skin infection. The couples have 2 children. The eldest child, who is 23 years old is doing her Diploma in Polytechnic Ungku Omar and the youngest is 18 years old. She obtained 9A+ and 1B and was given a place in Matriculation in Kelantan. Mr Balakrishnan’s salary is insufficient to support his daughter’s education. MHS Perak State Welfare Team headed by Mrs Pathma Devi donated him a sum of RM200.00 on 29 May 2017.
